Lamai
The Lamai beach on the central east coast of Koh Samui is certainly one of the most
beautiful and interesting places on the island. On one hand Lamai is far less commercial
than the more crowded and higher priced Chaweng beach,
on the other hand it's by far not as quiet as Maenam or Bophut. Thus, Lamai is a golden mix.
With a great beach and many shops, restaurants, pubs, bars and hotels the location offers
everything that holidaymakers are looking for. Furthermore Lamai is a cozy little community
with lots of charm, flair and nice people.
Events
Night Plaza (every day from 5:00 PM)
The Night Plaza is in the center of Lamai about 50 meters south of Mc Donalds. The stalls
offer souvenirs, T-Shirts, wood carvings and much more.
Weekend Bazaar (every Sunday from 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM)
From the first intersection after turning into the Lamai Beach road at the northern end, the
market spreads in all 4 directions. There is a lot of foods and beverages as well as a wide
selection of souvenirs and fabrics on offer.
Lady Thai Boxing & Thai Boxing (every Saturday from 10:00 PM)
This is lot of fun and action. The boxing stadium is in the middle of the bars about 50 meters
north from Mc Donalds. There is no entrance fee but as the bars organize the event the drinks
are slightly more expensive this night.
Live Music
- Shamrock Irish Pub - Rock and Pop daily from 10:00 PM - 1:00 AM
- Barrio Latino - Latin Music on Tuesdays & Saturdays from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Full Moon Party
The next FULL MOON PARTY in Koh Phangan is on Saturdat the 5&th of May 2012.
